As some of you know we just got back from Norway and have some gorgeous pictures which I will post over time. However one of the more striking views we have ever had from a hotel window is above. The Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey was a delight to see every night from our window. We took this trip in 2005.

Stunning picture. I have made plans to visit Istanbul and they fell apart....I have to look into that again.
Wow - very stunning photo. It sounds like you are taking advantage of life and living it to the fullest. Keep up your travels and best wishes to you.
I am so jealous! I miss traveling!! You are so lucky.
What a great photo I wish I could have been there the view is awesome I love the lighting. Thanks for sharing look forward to more.
What a great phot. Is this the Mosque that was formerly a Byzantine church or is that another building in Istambul ?
How wonderful, lucky you! Great shot, I will be looking for more.
Nice photo image of the blue mosque at Istanbul, Turkey. Thanks.
Charlie, this is the other one.
One of our best trips ever. We took this trip in 2005, stayed in Istanbul for 3 nights, then rented a car, traveled close to Greeceand over the Bosporus on a Ferry, traveled along the coast. We stayed in a typical fishing village, visited Ephesus and then stayed with an Iranian woman over the hills of Ephesus. Traveled over the cilk road to the interior and stayed three nights in Capadocia (which I loved), then to an Ankara for an overnight train back to Istanbul, Then one more night in Istanbul and a final trip up the Bosporus to the head of the Black Sea and home.
I would do it all in an instant, The people in Turkey were the best!
Hi Norma,
This was taken from your hotel room? That's what you call room with a view. Did you find much of a language barrier in the countryside? My sister travelled around Portugal and once they got out of the larger areas there was no english spoken. They had a bit of a tough time with some of the road signs.
